A frequently asked questions (FAQ) page is a great place for your visitors to come to first before emailing their queries. It is also a way to mention features that might otherwise get overlooked by your potential customers.
  • Can you make my website number one on Google?
We'd love to try! No one can guarantee a number one placing on Google, and if someone has found a way to 'cheat' the system - Google finds out and then blacklists that particular method. Not nice to be blacklisted by Google. So we play fair and tell our clients that a good page rank is earned over time with good content, good links in, and steady traffic.
  • Can you put a few photos on my (existing) website or just do a bit of editing?
If your website was built by someone else, then no, we don't do that here.
  • I want to edit my own website - can I do that?
Yes and no. You could just go ahead and edit your website using an ftp client (as long as we gave you the password to get in - which we probably wouldn't) but as websites are written in codes like html and css and php, and contain scripts, unless you knew what you were doing you could break it quite easily. If you didn't want to be our client any more (and we'd be sad to see you go) you could carry on with your website with another developer.

If you want a Content Management System (CMS) we can set one up for you. this means special areas of the website are able to be edited without disturbing the general structure. You wouldn't be able to modify the style or change the menus, but it would give you the freedom to make changes to pages where the information is likely to change on a regular basis.
  • Why can't I have my favourite font on my website?
When people browse a website some of the information used is from their own computers, fonts for example. 'Web Safe Fonts' are fonts that most people have on their computers no matter what operating system or version they have. they are like common denominators of the font world and of the thousands and thousands of fonts available only a handful are 'web safe'. If you have a fancy font that your visitor doesn't have, then the browser will choose any old thing and most likely it will look very ugly.
